Sayli Salunkhe and Anushka Merchande will play protagonists in new TV series Pukaar

Sony Entertainment Television is gearing up to present a new show titled Pukaar, a riveting drama packed with emotions, love, loss and redemption. Set amid the picturesque pink city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, this new show promises to take viewers into a world of wrestling stories. Recently, Sony TV’s official Instagram account teased the audience with a sneak peek of the show by releasing the promo accompanied by the caption, “Kya Vedika samet paayegi apna bikhra hua parivaar? Dekhiye #Pukaar, jaldi hello sir #SonyEntertainmentTelevision by #PukaarOnSonyTV #NewShow.”

The promo introduces us to the gripping story of a mother and her two daughters, torn apart by evil plans. Yet their fates become intertwined as Saraswati, Vedika and Koel are united by unexpected twists of fate. The trio join forces to navigate unforeseen challenges and confront the sinister forces that have shattered their family bond.

Pukaar Cast

The ensemble cast of Pukaar features a line-up of talented actors ready to bring their characters to life on screen. Leader of the pack is Sayli Salunkhe, known for her role in Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si opposite Mohit Mali. In the new venture, she will be essaying the female lead role opposite Abhishek Nigam, known for his notable performances in the TV show Alibaba: Dastond-E-Kabul and the film Panipat which released in 2019.


Anushka Merchande plays her character’s sister alongside Sayli, known for her roles in various projects like Bombay Begums, Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Ki and Main Hoon Aparajita, among others. In a recent interview with ETimes TV, when asked about her upcoming projects, Anushka said, “There is something big that I am going to announce. I’m a little superstitious, so I’ll announce it soon. Many have already read about it, so you will see a lot from me soon enough.”

The stellar ensemble also includes Sumukhi Pendse, Vimarsh Roshan, Mishika Popat, Garima Vikrant Singh and Shweta Gautam, who will play crucial roles in the show.

Pukaar will be launched next month on Sony Entertainment Television. However, the channel has not revealed any details about the time slot and specific launch date. With such a stellar cast and an intriguing storyline, Pukaar promises to provide viewers with an immersive experience in a distinctive world of emotions that will keep them engaged and invested throughout.
