Netflix unveils trailer for Richard Linklater's "Touch man" Comedy

Netflix has released the official trailer for “Hit Man,” a new comedy from Texas filmmaker Richard Linklater that promises to deliver a smart existential take on the hitman genre. Inspired by a true story, the film follows a hitman who meets his match when a client steals his heart, leading to a web of deceit, joy and mixed identities.

The film stars Glen Powell as Gary Johnson, a strict professor who leads a double life as a fake assassin for the New Orleans police. Gary’s knack for assuming different personas to catch unsuspecting individuals looking to take down their enemies takes a morally ambiguous turn when he begins a relationship with one of his potential clients, the captivating Madison, played by Adria Arjona.

As Madison falls in love with one of Gary’s hitmen, the enigmatic Ron, their affair sets in motion a chain of events involving theft, deception, and ever-higher stakes. The film explores themes of identity and morality in a light-hearted yet thought-provoking manner, making it a must-watch for fans of comedy and crime dramas alike.

“Hit Man” also features Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao and Evan Holtzman in supporting roles. The screenplay, written by Richard Linklater and Glen Powell, promises to deliver a unique and compelling story when the film hits Netflix on June 7, 2024.
