The contents of a home in Winston suffered significant damage in a fire on Thursday afternoon.

Battalion Chief Mitch Doss of Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and the Winston Dillard Fire District said both agencies responded to the fire on Carroll Street just after 12:20 p.m.

Doss said the first fire crew to arrive on scene took quick action to ensure all residents left the home. The fire brigade was able to stop the spread of the fire in time using a single hose line.

DCFD2 and WDFD responded to the incident with two fire trucks, an ambulance and two command units with a total of thirteen personnel. Doss said crews were unable to determine the cause of the fire. Winston Police Department, Avista Gas, Pacific Power and Umpqua Valley Ambulance assisted with the fire.
