Registration window opens. Check the full list of eligibility criteria

The registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2024) has been opened on the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) website, jeeadv.ac.in. The deadline for JEE Advanced registration is May 7.

According to IIT Madras, candidates have to select eight preferred exam centers while filling the application form. Those who successfully complete their applications will receive their admit cards on May 17 and can access them until the day of the JEE Advanced exam.

The two exams that make up the JEE Advanced exam 2024 will be conducted on May 26. Each of the two papers lasts three hours and consists of three sections: mathematics, chemistry and physics.

Registration fee

The JEE Advanced application fee is Rs 1,600 for candidates in reserved categories (SC, ST, PwD and women applicants) and Rs 3,200 for candidates in other categories. The payment window closes on May 10 at 5:00 PM.

Eligibility Criteria

1) To be eligible, candidates had to have taken the JEE Main BE, BTech paper 1 and placed in the top 2,50,000. 10% is reserved for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the rest 40.5% is available for everyone, as per the reservation rules. The information booklet stated that PwD candidates may reserve 5% of the available space horizontally within each of these five categories.

2) Candidates will be allowed to take the exam if they have completed the required subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the Class 12 exam of 2023 or 2024. But from this year, people who have passed the Class 12 test in 2022 or earlier will be , no longer accepted.

3) Applicants must be born on October 1, 1999 or later. applicants in SC, ST and PwD categories will get an age relaxation of five years; that is, applicants in these categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1994.

4) A candidate may appear for the JEE Advanced entrance test maximum twice in a span of two years. This means that students who make their debut this year are qualified to appear the following year.

5) Regardless of whether they continue with the programme, candidates who have been admitted to an IIT through JoSAA counseling 2023 will not be considered. Moreover, students whose admissions to IITs were canceled earlier are not eligible. On the other hand, a student who did not report to the reporting center online or in person last year or withdrew from the JoSAA counseling round may still be eligible to apply.
