Product offering and integration

Initially available in select states, including California and Texas, V2H technology will not only power homes during outages but also support integration with future clean energy products. GM Energy’s V2H bundle, available at launch, includes all the necessary equipment to facilitate this energy exchange. “With the introduction of this new offering, it has never been easier for our customers to access the comprehensive benefits of a holistic EV ecosystem,” said Wade Sheffer, vice president of GM Energy.

Future extensions and compatibility

The first vehicle to support V2H technology will be the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV First-Edition RST, with plans to expand this capability to more models by 2026. Future product roadmap: GM Energy plans to introduce additional residential solutions later this year, such as stationary energy storage and solar integration.

User experience and support

GM Energy’s products will integrate seamlessly with GM’s current mobile apps, increasing user convenience by enabling easy management of energy resources. For further assistance, customers can contact specialists through the GM Energy Live digital platform, which provides an immersive experience with GM Energy solutions.

Availability and installation

Products will initially be available in states including California, Florida, Michigan, New York and Texas, with expansion plans in the future. The installation process, costs and delivery times vary depending on the specific bundle and regional requirements.
