Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation is preparing for the first 8k race.

Runners, joggers and fitness enthusiasts are already warming up as Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation ensures the safety of participants in the first Greenway 8K Race.

The first Greenway 8K Race, one of many races this year, is just days away and as participants prepare, the Parks and Recreation Department wants to make sure everyone is aware as parts of the Greenway open on Sunday Close April 21 from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. .

Where to park

Parking is available in the Heritage Park and Kenwood parking lots for elementary, middle and high schools. Participants must then walk from these parking lots to the Mary’s Oak Trailhead for the start of the race.

The Mary’s Oak Trailhead parking lot and surrounding streets are prohibited, and all vehicles in those areas will be required to be towed at the owner’s expense.

Where you can support the runners

Although registration for the race is closed, there is still a chance to support the runners on Sunday.

For spectators, the Parks and Recreation Department recommends the Pollard Road Trailhead as an excellent viewing spot. There are parking and toilet facilities in the area and runners enter via this location.

Food vendors, such as Bondi Bowls, Kadi’s Tacos & More and Lemonade Cuties, will be on site at Mary’s Oak Trailhead to provide refreshments to runners and spectators.
