Baltic parliamentarians visit US to push for aid for Ukraine / Article

Chairman of the Riigikogu Foreign Affairs Committee Marko Mihkelson, together with his Latvian and Lithuanian counterparts, is on a joint visit to Los Angeles, USA, to discuss the impact of Russia’s war of aggression and to discuss the importance of further support to Ukraine to emphasize.

On Friday, Riigikogu Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Marko Mihkelson and Saeima Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Rihards Kols will meet with Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Erin Bromaghim, visit the University of Southern California and participate in two panel discussions to discuss the price of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and its broader impact on the global security situation.

On Saturday the two will be joined by their Lithuanian colleague ┼Żygimantas Pavilionis. Over two days, the visit’s schedule includes several meetings with members of the U.S. Congress to urge Congress to pass the aid package for Ukraine, which has been stuck for weeks amid domestic political infighting.

The trio will also meet with the Ukrainian community in Los Angeles and speak at the Baltic American Freedom League Awards Banquet. The Baltic presidents will meet again next Wednesday and Thursday in Berlin, Germany.
