PLDT Home wants to stay at the top in 2024

PLDT Home, the leading fiber broadband provider in the Philippines, is confident of maintaining its dominant market position in 2024.

This optimism comes from the continued growth of PLDT Home’s fiber services.

PLDT Home accounted for more than half of the sector’s fiber-only revenues, with P53 billion or a nine percent increase year-on-year.

This dominance extends to its customer base, with PLDT Home holding more than 50% of the total fiber-to-the-home market share. At the end of 2023, it had a total of 3.2 million fiber optic customers.

PLDT Home’s share of industry revenue has steadily increased to 50.6 percent by the end of 2023.

Jeremiah dela Cruz, PLDT senior vice president and head of Consumer Business, said PLDT Home was responsible for 68 percent of the industry’s revenue growth in 2023. The company leads the industry in average revenue per user (ARPU) with P1,493, an increase of 11 percent from the previous year.

“We want to continue enabling our customers to experience a new era of connectivity with technologies that give them unparalleled digital experiences and speeds at home,” said de la Cruz.

PLDT’s commitment to expansion resulted in a fiber footprint of more than 1.1 million cable kilometers by 2023, reaching 25 million Philippine households. Approximately 900,000 kilometers consists of domestic fiber optic, while the remaining 200,000 kilometers are internationally connected.
