Destiny 2’s The Final Shape Raid: Release date, bosses, everything we know

The Final Shape will arrive in Destiny 2 soon and, like the other expansions before it, will host its own Raid. So here’s what we know about the upcoming endgame activity, including its release date, which bosses we’ll encounter, and more.

Destiny 2 is hurtling towards The Final Shape, the ultimate finale to the decade-long Light and Darkness saga. Finally, the Guardians will enter the Traveler to confront the Witness and put an end to their plans.

The Final Shape also features a brand new raid for Guardians to participate in, one of the most exciting pieces of end-game content in the looter shooter. And since no one knows exactly what the future holds for the franchise, this Raid is crucial to finding a way forward.

Here’s what we know about the new raid launching in The Final Shape, including its release date, bosses, and more.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Raid release date and start time

The Final Shape raid will be released on June 7, 2024, just three days after the release of the major expansion. The raid itself starts at 10am PT, so players only have a few days left to prepare for the exciting World’s First race.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Raid Bosses

We know for sure that we will be fighting The Witness in The Final Shape raid. As confirmed by Joe Blackburn, Guardians will face off against the Witness during the raid itself. After years of torment, with this deceitful enemy pulling the strings on every major expansion, it’s finally time to take the fight head-on to them.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Raid Competition Mode

This is no different from previous endgame activities. It’s safe to assume that the Contest Mode modifier for the raid will be active for the first 48 hours. This mode limits the power of all players participating in the raid to 20 below the recommended power, making the raid much more difficult than normal. Completing the raid in competition mode is a huge achievement, and Bungie generally rewards Guardians who complete it with a special limited edition emblem.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape Raid – Race to first in the world

As usual, Guardians from around the world will compete to see who can complete the attack the fastest. Usually this involves a number of high-profile teams who typically stream their perspective and race against each other to come out on top.

Content creators like Datto and Sweatcicle often stream their experiences of the raid and are great to watch if you’re not also racing for the world’s first.

Bungie will reward the fastest team to complete the raid with an IRL belt for being the first, truly validating their monumental achievement.
