Oregon Memorial Day flyover schedule announced for 2024

The Portland Air National Guard Base’s 142nd Wing will conduct flyovers Monday for Memorial Day ceremonies at locations in northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington, including Salem and Mt. Angel.

All passes of the F-15 Eagle fighter jets will be approximately 300 meters above ground level and an airspeed of approximately 640 km/h. Flights may be canceled or times may be changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies, according to a news release from the Oregon Military Department.

“We support the Memorial Day flyovers to honor the great men and women who gave their all in defense of this great nation,” said Lt. Col. Brad Young, 142nd Wing instructor pilot and 142nd Operations Support Squadron Commander. “We hope that conducting the requested flyovers of community organizations will complement their ceremonies commemorating those who have lost their lives in service to this nation.”
