Heart stopper fans have noticed something exciting about the return date of the hit teen drama’s latest series.

On Monday, Netflix has released the first teaser clip for the Emmy-winning show’s third season, looking ahead to a moment viewers have been waiting two years for.

This was accompanied by an announcement that the new episodes would be streamed Thursday October 3.

It didn’t take long for fans to discover something interesting about this date – and its connection to another popular teen franchise.

You see, October 3rd also happens to have become known as “Mean Girls” Day, because it’s the date when Lindsay Lohan‘s character asks her love interest what day it is the popular 2004 comedy.

Most of the Heartstopper cast is returning for the third season, and it was previously revealed that they will be joined by some exciting new additions.

Not just wants Mission: Impossible star Hayley Atwell and Back To Black’s Eddie Marslan play new characters, Bridgerton‘s breakout star Jonathan Bailey will also make a cameo as the social media influencer Charlie is obsessed with.

Sadly, there will be one notable absence from the cast after this a particular Heartstopper favorite was confirmed in March that she will not appear in season three due to scheduling conflicts.
